La Distillerie de Monaco, the first and only distillery in the Principality of Monaco, is located in the elegant Condamine quarter, at the foot of the Rocher, and is the commercial heart of the Principality. Renowned for its artisanal production techniques, the distillery specialises in crafting award winning liqueurs and spirits, selecting only the finest local ingredients. Each creation is a tribute to the unique charm and essence of Monaco, offering a distinct and authentic taste experience that embodies the sophistication of the Principality.
A tribute to Monaco's Citrus Legacy
Long before tourism, yachts and the Grand Prix, citrus production was a mainstay of the local economy and famous for its bounty of fine Mediterranean fruits. These sunshine packed citrus fruits were traded for commodities (including spirits) with sailors on merchant ships looking to stave off scurvy on board. These boats were docked in the shelter of Monaco’s famous Port Hercule – the harbour which local legend dictates was created by the mighty Hercules.
