The Culture of Pleasure
MANOLESAKIS ESTATE of the Manolesakis family has been active in viticulture & winemaking since 1989, a pivotal period that coincides with the beginning of the vineyard of the Hadrian area in Drama, with the cosmopolitan French varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Syrah.
Start
In 1998, the winery’s facilities were completed with a state-of-the-art wine production unit of 1500 sq.m. located in the heart of the privately owned vineyard of 200 acres on the slopes of Hadriani, a few kilometers outside the city of Drama.
Extension
In 2004, the continuous search led to new crops of Greek native varieties such as Malagouzia, Moschato Alexandria, Assyrtiko, and Agiorgitiko while in 2008 the also Greek varieties Moschomavro and Limnio were added and in 2014 the variety Pinot noir.
Target

Rooted in the Hadriani area of Drama since 1989, Manolesakis Estate combines native and international grape varieties, a respect for nature, and consistent innovation—all working in harmony to express the terroir’s unique character.

Since its founding in 1989, Estate Manolesakis has stood as a beacon of viticulture in the Adriani region of Drama, Eastern Macedonia. Over decades, the Manolesakis family has revitalized vineyards steeped in history, uniting tradition with innovation to give voice to both indigenous Greek grape varieties and select international ones.
Under the stewardship of George Manolesakis and his son Stavros, the estate has expanded across 200 acres, built modern production facilities, and carried forward a mission to allow the land, climate, and community to speak through every bottle. Rooted in the soil of Drama, enriched by its microclimate, and guided by passion and care, the legacy of Manolesakis is one of authenticity, resilience, and excellence in winemaking.
The wider region of Hadrian is morphologically very homogenous. The exposure of the vineyard is northwest and the climate is semi-continental i.e. it is between the Mediterranean and the continental climate. The winters are quite cold, while the summers are warm. In winter there are several rains that supply the vines with the necessary moisture. During the summer season, day and night temperature fluctuations are observed, a phenomenon that helps the beneficially slow ripening of the grapes.
Viticulture is carried out with the personal care of Stavros Manolesakis and the advice of the partner agronomist of the estate, who carry out continuous experiments with Greek and foreign varieties with the aim of establishing their adaptation to the region as well as their wine potential.
