Description
The oldest eaux-de-vie in this amazing blend are from the Grande Champagne area and were distilled during the First World War, while the younger elements date back to the sixties. The signature of a great Grande Champagne cognac is its ability to stay fresh and vigorous despite having spent so much time in a cask.
Grape Varieties: Ugni-Blanc, Folle Blanche
Growing Areas: Mainly Grande Champagne over 50 years old
Ageing: A man hadn’t even walked on the moon yet
Nose: Rich and generous on the nose, with hints of honey, blackberry and wood spices
Taste: A powerful attack which is almost oily in consistence, a distinctive trait of a very old Grande Champagne, there is a perfect balance between fruits, flowers and the spicy notes from the wood
Finish: A superb long finish with hints of cinnamon, nutmeg and berry fruits
